Before applying the product, repair any breaks, cracks and damage to the vinyl. Next, spray a light even coating of Perma-bond Primer on the vinyl, then once it dries spray on two coats of Lifetime Vinyl Coatings.

A: Chalk on vinyl siding is caused by oxidation from the breakdown of the vinyl overtime. This becomes much more noticeable after a power-wash if there is uneven removal of the chalk and the oxidation that causes chalking will be progress quickly on parts of the house with the most sun.

A: There are three things to keep in mind before applying any Permalast product: humidity, temperature and weather. The higher the humidity, the longer it will take to dry and vice versa. Permalast coating systems will fail if applied at temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit and below temperatures of 35 degrees Fahrenheit during the curing process. It is vital to check the weather in advance so that you know if there’s a chance for rain/snow, whether the humidity changes drastically throughout the day and most important of all is to make sure it does not drop below 35 degrees Fahrenheit at night or go above 90 during the hottest period of the day. As long as you keep these things in mind and plan thoroughly, you can use Permalast products year round.
