Lifetime Brick Coating

A: Prepare the surface by doing a power wash of the whole house then tape off and cover windows, vents or anything you don’t want to get coated. After letting the brick dry for 2-3 days (sooner if the brick is in direct sunlight) apply an even coating of Permabond Primer and then after being certain that you have let the first coat completely dry you’ll spray on the Lifetime Brick Coating. It may take more than one coat to achieve desired results. It is important to thoroughly clean your sprayer after use of Permalast products as it is difficult to clean out after it has dried.

A: Lifetime Brick Coatings is designed to stick well to brick so it is very important to properly cover any brick surfaces you don’t want to get coated. That being said, in the event that you do have an unwanted drip or spill we recommend using Goof Off®, a wire brush and warm water to brush at the spill until it clears up. Be careful not to use too much pressure as brick scratches easily leaving a clean mark on the house.

A: There are three things to keep in mind before applying any Permalast product: humidity, temperature and weather. The higher the humidity, the longer it will take to dry and vice versa. Permalast coating systems will fail if applied at temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit and below temperatures of 35 degrees Fahrenheit during the curing process. It is vital to check the weather in advance so that you know if there’s a chance for rain/snow, whether the humidity changes drastically throughout the day and most important of all is to make sure it does not drop below 35 degrees Fahrenheit at night or go above 90 during the hottest period of the day. As long as you keep these things in mind and plan thoroughly, you can use Permalast products year round.

You may notice the original color change slightly over time, with regular power washing and routine maintenance (such as repairing any damage to the brick itself) you’ll see that it shall not crack, peel, blister, flake, or corrode
