Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What is the best application method for this product?
A: Prepare the surface by doing a power wash of the whole surface area, then tape off and cover windows, vents or anything you don’t want to get coated. Before applying the Perma-bond Primer, repair any cracks, holes or peeling caulking on the stucco.Ā We recommend putty made for stucco to fill in cracks and holes, then allow all putty, caulk or any other repairing material to fully cure before applying the Perma-bond Primer.Ā Afterwards spray Lifetime Stucco Coatings on the stucco, making sure to not put it on too heavy to avoid getting runs or drips in the paint. It may take more than one coat to achieve desired results. It is important to thoroughly clean your sprayer after use of Permalast products as it is difficult to clean out after it has dried.
Q: What is the best method to clean up messes and spills with Lifetime Stucco Coatings?
A: We designed lifetime Stucco Coatings to stick well to stucco, so it is very important to properly cover any surfaces you don’t want to get coated. That being said, if you have an unwanted drip or spill, we recommend using Goof OffĀ®, a wire brush and warm water to brush at the spill until it clears up. Be careful not to use too much pressure as some stucco can chip and get scratched up easily, leaving a blemish on the structure.
Q: Can I use this any time of the year?
A: There are three things to keep in mind before applying any Permalast product: humidity, temperature and weather. The higher the humidity, the longer it will take to dry and vice versa. Permalast coating systems will fail if applied at temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit and below temperatures of 35 degrees Fahrenheit during the curing process. It is vital to check the weather in advance so that you know if there’s a chance for rain/snow, whether the humidity changes drastically throughout the day and most important of all is to make sure it does not drop below 35 degrees Fahrenheit at night or go above 90 during the hottest period of the day. As long as you keep these things in mind and plan thoroughly, you can use Permalast products year round.
Q: How long should I expect a coating to last?
A: We offer a 30 year warranty on all our products because we know they will stand the test of time! You may notice the original color change slightly over time, with regular power washing and routine maintenance (such as repairing any damage to the stucco itself) you’ll see that it shall not crack, peel, blister, flake, or corrode.
